As a Level 3 OFQUAL-certified First Aid trainer, Debbie specializes in personlised small-group first aid courses, designed for flexibility and effective first aid skills learning, offering either face-to-face training or a blended* (online and face-to-face) learning options. 


Debbie Lambert offers HSE-compliant first aid courses accredited by  World Class Training (WCT) and the Regulated Awarding Organisation QNUK trainer network. 

These OFQUAL-accredited courses meet the highest standards set by governing bodies 


World Class Training is an Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) aligned First Aid Provider, with HSE and Ofsted compliant, internally verified courses recognized by sporting governing bodies, schools and other organisations.

Outdoor First Aid Training

16 hour Outdoor First Aid (OFA) Training

The Outdoor First Aid course is suitable for those who who may be required to provide first aid in an outdoor environment where help may be up to 2 hours away. Therefore, attendees are most commonly outdoor activity instructors. Groups are limited to 9 people. 


Part of this qualification also meets the requirements for Emergency First Aiders. This is outlined in the Health and Safety (First aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. 


Course Title: Outdoor First Aid    

Duration: 16 hours guided learning  

Age: 16 or over   

Valid for: valid for 3 years   

Prerequisites: All learners must be able to perform practical  elements such as CPR on the ground due to the fact this is the most  likely situation in first aid. There are no other prerequisites for  this qualification.

  • Primary assessments
  • Administer first aid to the casualty
  • CPR
  • AED Device and how to use one.
  • Seizures
  • Choking
  • Wounds & Bleeding

  • Burns
  • Anaphylactic Shock
  • Dealing with neck and spinal injuries (working in teams to assist paramedics)
  • Hypothermia
  • Frostbite
  • Heat exhaustion
  • Aquatic scenarios if participants are in this environment
  • Other outdoor first aid activity related scenarios focused upon specific sports / activities involved


2-day face to face cost: £165 pp 

If you are OFSTED registered or primarily work with children, you may want to consider our optional  PFA top-up course, which can be assessed on the same day. 

Upon successful completion, you'll earn two qualifications. 

Blended learning cost with one practical assessment day: £155 pp 

For the top up blended option you'll need to complete two online modules and pass two written assessments at the end of the practical assessment day.

16 hour Forest and Beach Outdoor First Aid

16 hour Forest and Beach Outdoor (FBO) First Aid

This qualification is for adults working in an outdoor learning environment and is designed to provide outdoor incident management skills contexualised with forest and beach scenarios.   

The practical  sessions ensure that the content and delivery meets the learning  outcomes as required by HSE and the IOL. 


Course Title: Forest and Beach Outdoor First Aid    

Duration: 16 hours   

Age: 16 or over   

Valid for: valid for 3 years  

Prerequisites:

It is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level 1 literacy or equivalent. This qualification is for those over 16 years of age. All  learners must be able to perform practical elements such as CPR on the  ground. There are no other prerequisites for this qualification.


Course Content Summary:  

  • roles & responsibilities, 
  • legal requirements
  • adult/child/infant specific treatments,  
  • dealing with collapse (with and without breathing), 
  • choking, 
  • bleeding, 
  • shock, 
  • major illnesses, 
  • torso and limb injuries, 
  • environmental effects, heat and cold injuries, 
  • contextualised scenarios
  • outdoor incident management and looking after a casualty for more than 10 minutes.

2-day face to face cost: £165 pp

6 / 12 hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA)

6 /12 hour Paediatric First Aid Courses (RQF)

This training is designed for workers caring for young children in line with the specifications set out in paragraph 3.25 of the EYFS Framework 2021 (applies from 1 September 2021) and itemised in Appendix A of the Statutory Framework for EYFS March 2021 and HSE guidelines. 
   


The Ofsted and HSE compliant 2 day blended-learning first aid course is part of the QNUK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).  The Department of Education recognises Blended First Aid in the Statutory EYFS Framework (applied fromJanuary 2024).


Certification is valid for 3 years. 


Baby and junior models are provided, so that all trainees can practice and demonstrate techniques. 



The 6 hour Emergency PFA course is undertaken face-to-face lasts for a minimum of 6 hours. and supports trainees to: 


• Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents) 

• Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take  

• Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally  

• Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally  

• Help a baby or child who is having a seizure  

• Help a baby or child who is choking  

• Help a baby or child who is bleeding  

• Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss  (hypovolaemic shock)  


The 12 hour Full PFA course covers the elements listed below in the online modules in addition the face to face emergency PFA training elements outlined above:


Help  a baby or child:

• who is suffering from anaphylactic shock 

• who has had an electric shock


• who has burns or scalds


• who has a suspected fracture 

• with head, neck or back injuries


• who is suspected of being poisoned


• with a foreign body in eyes, ears or nose


• with an eye injury


• with a bite or sting


• who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold


• who is having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction; meningitis; and/or febrile convulsions   

• Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and how to record accidents and incidents). 


Blended learning cost: £155 pp 

2-day face to face cost: £165 pp 

NOTE: this course is also run concurrently with OFA and Beach and Forest FA courses for a top of up fee of £40 for the additional registration and certification i.e. on successful completion you would have two qualifications.

This 5-hour practical first aid training programme covers the RSE and Health Education basic first aid requirements; 

  • learning how to make a clear and efficient call to emergency services if necessary  
  • the concepts of basic first aid,
  • dealing with common injuries including head injuries. 

Aimed at Y5 or Y6 or above,  this course is delivered in your own setting by a World Class Training first aid trainer either as a whole day or over two half-days. 

The course is run with full compliance to current HSE / C-19 regulations.

This 5-hour first aid course can be sent to you as a fully resourced self-delivery training package (pdf) for you to print off and use with your own class to be delivered by a staff member who is first aid current. 

Package includes:

  • First Aid scenario cards
  • First Aid course pupil booklet
  • First Aid course participation certificate 

The course gives Y5 or 6 pupils the confidence to deal with common first aid emergencies that happen in a school setting.
