Raccoon Circles are an innovative, simple and easy technique for building teamwork for any group, building confidence and social skills, reconnecting them in the process.
The techniques were originally developed by Tom Smith and Jim Cain in 'The Revised and Expanded Book of Raccoon Circles', using the key skills of communication, social skills and teamwork.
Participants will be shown and experience innovative, simple and effective techniques to reconnect your group using team work and problem solving, with clear links to 'assessment for learning' opportunities. The activities promote speaking and listening skills through collaborative learning.
Curriculum links are highlighted throughout, promoting maths and English fluency.
The training includes a length of tubular webbing so you can start right away!
Cost guide: twilight / half day* : £365 per setting
Training includes a set of the Taking Maths Outdoors webbing pack and booklets
Please note for schools beyond Devon, twilight and half days will be charged at whole day rate.
Travel beyond Cornwall is charged at 55p / mile with additional overnight accommodation where needed.

Designed to make maths memorable, the activities showcased in the Taking Maths Outdoors training sessions have been published as a durable water resistant booklets.
The ideas and techniques can also be used without the training, although the subtle nuances of the techniques may be clearer when shown and demonstrated.
