This popular supported self-delivery outdoor learning training package empowers you to conduct your own INSET staff training, complete with all the necessary materials. You can customize the package to fit your setting, whether you choose to hold a series of staff meetings, 2-3 hour twilight sessions, or a full training day.

We provide comprehensive resources to facilitate your professional development, aligning with the DfE Teachers' Professional Development Standards to promote a whole-school approach to effective outdoor teaching and learning.


The content includes: 

  • Defining outdoor learning and it's benefits linking to the latest research
  • Teaching and whole school strategies; making connections
  • Effective use of your grounds to deliver the curriculum and Sustainability and Climate Change strategy ; promoting literacy and maths fluency across the curriculum

Utilizing the 'See One, Do One, Show One' training and delivery model, this comprehensive one-day (5-hour) supported self-delivery training package provides everything you need to conduct your own INSET staff training. 

The program features a blend of PowerPoint-led discussions and practical activities conducted in your school grounds.

The training includes engaging activities designed to sustain and embed best practices, incorporating both individual and collaborative exercises, as well as formative assessment and evaluation processes. This approach fosters a whole-school commitment to outdoor learning.

You can easily tailor the package to fit your setting, whether you prefer a series of staff meetings, 2-3 hour twilight sessions, or a full training day.
